28 years old and writing post number 28 tonight. What else could this have been about? Here are 28 things I picked up along the way. I hope you find it helpful and enjoyable, maybe even relatable.
I’m on the precipice of crossing 100 subscribers with 2 days left, I appreciate all of you joining me.
People come in and out, and that’s ok. Let the ones that are important to you know that they are
Things out of your control are not worth your mind or anguish. Focus on what you can control
You’ve never once regretted pouring love and generosity into your loved ones. Do this more, there is limited time
There is no try, only do
You don’t find yourself. You notice yourself, in small ways, little by little, and it’s been such a pleasure getting to know you and all the ways you are
Stop picking fights that you don’t need to win, you’re losing just by having them
Your biggest regrets have been the hurtful things you’ve said and done to people who love you
You can miss someone and still know they don’t belong in your future
Be nicer to yourself. It affects everything. How you move through the world, how you are to others, how you show up
Some of the best things that have ever happened to you happened despite your best efforts to push in the wrong direction, when best-laid plans imploded. Let some things be as they will be
You are always worthy of self-love and rest. Take a break if you’re tired; if you don’t allow that to yourself, why should anyone else?
Listen to and play as much music as possible; it is when you feel closest to life
Every version of you did their best. Be kind to yourself, give yourself a pat on the back, be grateful for where past you has taken you
Some people will love you, some people will dislike you. That’s how things are, you are not for everyone, and not everyone is for you. Don’t torment yourself about being disliked, you are as you are
Money should serve you, not the other way around. Spend it when you want, with whom you want, what else is it for?
When you think of someone, when something reminds you of them, reach out to them
Say thank you and compliment people around you often. It makes you happy
Say no to more things, more often
You will never regret holding your anger and choosing to be kind. You are the only master of your reactions to the world (this includes yourself)
It is the people in your life who need nothing more than for you to be yourself that you will remember
Why do you cry when you look at old photos of yourself or your mom and dad? Remember always the multitude of who you are today and its impossibility without those who shaped you
Being productive and busy are overrated; be less of both when you can
Pay attention, it speeds up
Some years ask questions, and other years answer them. (Zora Neale Hurston) When things are unclear or unresolved, soak in it, and let it reveal itself to you. Discomfort is a sign that something important is coming
There is good in everyone
Today is the oldest you've ever been, and the youngest you'll ever be again (Eleanor Roosevelt)
If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room
At the very end of it all, you won’t remember the work, the to-do lists, the money, but the people you love and who love you
happy belated !! the points about cherishing your loved ones and being kind to others almost made me teary eyed 🥹
strong list!! any plans for a 100-subscriber special? :O
